Chanz
Beef
Butcher's
Island
Oh fair and
gracious plain
How bright and torn and fallen
Full of bricks and mortar piles
Tossed aside with their design
Faded words
all one hue
The Me-and-You's all consuming
With no thought for directions
Save their own
For all
the heat
And all the steam
Go back to water in the end
Where once
stood things that did not ask
Now blows dust to pave the same path as promised
But
before it's done it's been forgot
It's end long passed, it's truth's long lied
Scoop them
up and throw them out!
That's all it's been about
And when you turn to face your love where is it? Where is it?
For all
the heat
And all the steam
Go back to water in the end
All the rights,
and all the wrongs
The doing and it's keeping
The people and the place
Is no more than a Butcher's island
Is no more
than a Butcher's island
Is no more
than a Butcher's island!
